For Kurt, it is a welcome addition to his business interests. “I have been involved in the property industry for a while and I’m excited about balancing my roles in music and entertainment with this new position,” he enthuses.
At the top of his game, Kurt’s latest release, Laat die Dansvloer Brand has taken him, once again, to No1 on KykNet’s Top20. Tickets for March’s SuperSokkie Cruise are nearly sold out and Kurt’s passion for music is still burning bright. “Music is my life and the buzz I get from performing live has never been stronger,” he says. “This new venture complements my performing career.”
Having lived in the Cape for the past three years, Kurt is excited about spending more time on the KZN coast. “When I was growing up, visiting the KZN coast – the South Coast in those days – was our holiday treat.”
From both an investment and lifestyle perspective, the North Coast is a win-win. “The topography, the warm sea, quick access to the airport, climate – KZN’s North Coast has got the lot. It’s a great lifestyle choice. Add to that the trajectory that property values on the North Coast have enjoyed and you’ve got the lifestyle plus the investment benefits,” says Kurt.
“Blythedale Coastal Estate is ideal for upcountry investors. The commute is a quick drive to the airport and a one-hour flight to the country’s commercial hub.”
Kurt regards the broad appeal of Blythedale Coastal Estate as a major drawcard for buyers. “At one thousand hectares, it is an expansive property and gives owners so many options – beach, equestrian, golf, a school, resort, indigenous forests – there’s something for everyone.”
“The option of a holiday home which doubles as a work-from-home when possible and, eventually becomes a permanent move to the coast, is catching on.”
For South Africans wanting to invest in other countries and currencies, eLan’s developments in Mauritius are a popular choice.
“I think a lot more people would be investing in Mauritius if they knew how to go about it,” says Kurt. “What eLan is offering takes care of all those doubts and questions. By understanding that the property investment is generally part of a clients’ bigger picture, eLan is serving a unique market need.”
““I will be on the company’s second Investment Roadshow to the island next month and I can’t wait to get to know all the ins and outs of investing in the island, as well the legalities of property ownership, business opportunities, access to residency, what the educational institutions are like and so on.”
“Music will always be my first love,” says the award-winning performer who has an impressive 7 SAMAs and 21 gold albums to his name. “Working with eLan is an opportunity for me to combine my music career with my passion for property,” says Kurt.
eLan is not the first developer Kurt has worked with and he has a keen interest in architecture and developmental structures as well as the business side of property development. With a young family, Kurt juggles his work commitments to make sure he gets to spend time with his wife, Dunay and their young children, Kyrah and Kade.
“I love the way that eLan is thinking about what developments should be like in 20 years’ time,” he says. "New technologies are revolutionising the way we live and off-the-grid solutions are a reality now. The company is so innovative in its marketing approach and I admire their drive.”
Kurt says he immediately clicked with Mark Taylor’s approach to business. “I’m not one of those it can wait until Monday kind of guys, and neither are they.”
Taylor says he is excited about the eLan Group’s plans for 2018 and working together with Kurt. “We are ready to take our business to the next level and Kurt is an integral part of our plans. It’s the start of a new chapter for the eLan Group,“ he concludes.
SA music icon and media personality, Kurt Darren, has joined the eLan Property Group as Sales and Marketing Director. He will be actively involved in marketing the group’s property portfolio, most notably, Blythedale Coastal Estate on KwaZulu-Natal’s booming North Coast, as well as the group’s new developments in Mauritius.
“It’s tremendous to have Kurt on board,” says eLan Property Group CEO, Mark Taylor. “Our plans are coming together perfectly and we are delighted to welcome Kurt, with his popularity, inclusive appeal, and shared vision, to the eLan team.” Vir meer inligting, klik hier.
